The Miami Fashion Institute at Miami Dade College was thrilled to unveil the Earth Day Miami 2024 celebration, a testament to collaborative progress towards Miami's sustainable future. Earth Day Miami fosters a unique partnership with esteemed organizations this year, including the groundbreaking waste management leaders at WM and The Upcycle Project, directed by the visionary Gabriella Smith. This initiative also shines with the creativity of local icons such as Lisu Vega and Melissa Garsva, who joined forces to commemorate our shared commitment to sustainability. 

A centerpiece of the month's events was a collaboration with the Miami Fashion Institute at Miami Dade College's Wolfson Campus, showcasing a pioneering exhibit. This showcase, brought to life by  Upcycle Project and Earth Day Miami, features ingeniously upcycled towels created by the talented students and alumni of the Miami Fashion Institute, alongside eco-conscious recycled plastic footwear presented by the Miami Shoe Museum. The event was enriched with engaging discussions led by leading community figures in sustainability, promising to inspire and foster meaningful dialogue on eco-friendly innovation.
